SCS-Draw

Second City Software Draw (SCS-Draw or Draw for short) is a drawing program for CP/M-based Kaypro computers. Starting in 1984, Kaypro computers included a character set that permitted a 160x100 "graphics mode" composed of characters composed of 8 "pixels" in a 2x4 grid.

Doug Mahugh used this new graphic capability to create a drawing program for Kaypro computers that supported "Kaypro graphics". He describes the creation and capabilities of SCS-Draw on his blog. He created a full-featured drawing program in Z80 Assembly language by himself in about 9 months in 1985. SCS-Draw 1.1 followed in 1986.

SCS-Draw was featured on the cover of the March 1986 edition of ProFiles, the magazine for Kaypro computers.

Doug declared SCS-Draw freeware under the GNU GPLv3 license on 2023-12-26. This is the Github repository for everything related to SCS-Draw.
